On May 6th 2023 was held the first edition of the event " One day as..." at a creative studio located at the center of the 8th district of Vienna. From 1PM to 6PM, Diaspora members living in Europe gave the honour of presenting, introducing, sharing a bit of their creative work and professions.

Five different workshops were scheduled and held:
One day as a Scriptwriter
One day as a Chef
One day as a Graphic Designer
One day as a Music Producer
One day as a Cybersecurity Expert

For one, the kids were guided by David, to create their own Hollywood storyline with different characters. Held in German, the Scriptwriting session revealed how the creation of a story, the initial creative step before production.

Creativity is not overlooked in the roles of a Chef. In fact, as clearly explained by Alicia, when it involves mixing ingredients colours and flavours to create delicacies. Alicia shared during her session safe cutting skills that surely the kids can take home and introduce to their parents. The session ended with a creative cookie decoration as a gift from the wonderful workshop host.

In the Graphic Design workshop, after being introduced to the role and types of graphic design, Audrey led participants to design their own logos. A logo is a representation of a brand, an image of a company. Presented with popular logos, all the participants were able to identify the company and the product/service delivered. It is with this example that all of them designed their own logos using a popular graphic design tool. The logos were inserted on business card templates.

A lot happens behind our favourite music and tunes. Wemi's workshop presented the roles of the metronome, the BPM, the DAW, etc..in making music pleasant to our ears. This introduction led to the kids experimenting with the creation of their own rhythm and recorded music. It was with excitement that the registered beats of all children was listened and vibed to by all participants in the classroom.

The day ended with Bangaly, who shared with o9ur participants, the importance of cybersecurity in today's world. Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability were at the top of discussions. Children were presented with the risks of internet but also what could happen when playing video games online. Passwords! Even for adults it can be challenging to have them secured. It was a good occasion for the kids to understand with real example why it is important to have a secure password. Quick safety measures were also given to parents present during the session.
The kids generally enjoyed this first edition of "One day as..." and were excited for the next editions. "I want to be a policemen. Can you have a policemen next time?" said Viktor in excitement, looking forward to next time.
We are using this platform to hearty thank our workshop host for agreeing to share their knowledge on May 6th. We also greatly thank our wonderful participants for their presence, positive mood and for agreeing to share their afternoon with us.
