“We can’t depend only on existing systems. We need to create digital spaces that truly value and respect our creativity.” - Audrey Kodjo, in her FAB L’Style interview
That conviction resonates powerfully as we introduce Sedo+, a platform designed to reclaim narrative control and uplift African and diaspora creators.

Launched in June 2025 by Franco-Béninois actor, director, and producer Sèdo Tossou, Sedo+ aims to become a streaming home for African audiovisual works. Sèdo already has strong roots in the industry: founding a cinema school, a production company, and producing series such as Alokan and La Maison Tinwé, which are already reaching audiences across Bénin, Africa and the diaspora. With Sedo+, he wants more than visibility, he wants creative freedom and fair compensation for artists.
Sedo+ matters for African & diaspora creatives because...
It's a platform that respects the African narratives
Too often, stories from African creators must fit foreign molds. Sedo+ offers a space where stories can breathe, unfiltered, rooted, and expansive.
Transparent monetization, real reward
Many African creators struggle to earn a fair income under traditional streaming or social platforms. With Sedo+, the revenue model is clear, and every view is accounted for.
Making invisible talent visible
Many African creators never get visibility - not for lack of talent, but lack of access. Sedo+ is a stage where underrepresented voices can be seen, heard, and valued across continents.
Strengthening cultural ecosystems
By circulating content within and beyond Africa, and by encouraging cross-region collaboration, Sedo+ helps build networks, audiences, and markets that don’t depend exclusively on Western gatekeepers.
In the Spirit of the message from DC's founder...
When Audrey urged African creatives to stop waiting for validation, to build their own platforms, she was pointing toward what Sedo+ now embodies. Sedo+ is one of those platforms carving out space for us, by us.
It will be fascinating to see how creators, audiences, and institutions engage with it over time. Will Sedo+ scale, sustain, and inspire similar initiatives across other creative sectors? We believe it can, and we’ll be watching, supporting, and creating alongside it.
If you’re a creative in film, series, animation, or audiovisual arts: check out Sedo+, explore its model, consider how it aligns with your goals and join the conversation on how we reclaim narrative space together.
