About the event
TAKS & Jaapo invite you to a place of encounter and empowerment, where different people and perspectives are made visible and celebrated. A person only becomes fully human through others — through relationships, connection, mindfulness, and a positive attitude toward one another. We are not alone; we become who we are through community, recognition, and mutual empowerment.
Join in and enjoy African delicacies, take part in games (Bao/Kahala, Simama ka), dance, singing and more. Admire the Afro Hair Show by the youngsters and support various arts and crafts. Program includes culinary offerings, participatory games, singing, readings, dance, arts & crafts, and a hair show — for all ages, celebrating the African continent.
