About the event
The exhibition WORLD PRESS PHOTO at WestLicht is traditionally accompanied by the presentation of a contemporary position in the upper gallery: This time on show there is the multimedia exhibition THE WHITE CANVAS, curated by Nassirou Holik (*1995), in which he brings together his own works with the seriesLet Me Love Myself Real Quick by the Afro-European visual artist Samira Saidi (*1995).
The project deals with the experiences of Black People and People of Colour in a white majority society in which the structures of coexistence are tailored to the norm of whiteness. The project was created in co-operation with the Master's degree programme Applied Human Rights at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
