BEFORE RUINS is Dior Thiam's first solo exhibition and traces her artistic practice, in which she interweaves memory, history and image. Through painting, photography, poetry and installation, Thiam questions and appreciates the importance of the fragment - she focuses her gaze on both faces and places. By opening archives and breaking up the conventional frameworks, cracks and gaps arise in her work – visible traces between decay and healing, between presence and absence.
